Since 2005 he is Full Professor of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Firenze.
His scientific activity focused on the role of cytokines in the pathophysiology of malignant hematopoietic diseases, on the mechanisms regulating memory B cell survival, on the biochemical pathways triggered by neurotrophins in responding cells.
He was Responsible Scientist of the Italian National Research Council Project on Biotechnologies, 1997-2002.
